One of the most effective but also one of the simplest door locks - have no idea why they aren't available in Australia ...

We bought the Child Proof Deluxe Door Top Locks in order to keep a cat from being able to enter certain rooms in the house. It has worked "wonderfully" to stop her from opening doors that she was able to somehow open before we installed the locks. We're very happy with the product and the package arrived fairly quickly. The locks work exactly like we were hoping they would!

I finally found it! we have inherited our 2 small grandsons and that required a revamp of our home. Everytime they played in their room - everything came out of the closet; toys, clothes, etc. I was sick of cleaning the mess. The closed has 2 regular doors that open in the center - we bought 2 locks - problem solved! the only way this would be any better is if they made a "set" with a left and right lock. But these work like a charm. Thanks!

My mother lives with us and we have a teenage son. They don't want the little ones getting into their rooms and getting into their things. These door latches are perfect! They keep the little ones out and make it easy for adults to get in. There are little plastic handles to open the locks from either side of the door. It was the perfect thing for keeping the kids out until my daughter forgot about it and push the door a little harder( she just thought the door was stuck, she didn't have to push very hard) and the lock broke into 2 pieces. So it works great as long as the child knows it is there, unfortunately our only last about 4 days!

Easy installation and works great. Very simple and discrete.

Great product, but only works on interior doors. (Non re-enforced) Does not work on thicker, external doors. Will need to find another solution for that one.

We have a boy, almost four years old, who for is age is tall and very strong. He can't get through this lock, and he's tried. Don't worry about the flexing -- it's a clever design. I'm about to buy more.

This is the best child safety door lock I have ever seen. It installed in literally 1 minute, and us easy to use once it is up, yet keeps the kids out perfectly. The price of the unit is more than reasonable for what you get. If anything could be better I wish it came with different length sticks for opening the doors. We have two kids and one is old enough to be trusted and the other is not, but the older one can't reach the stick, so we had to rig up our own extension. This is a minor detai...

These are the BEST. Easy to install and easy to use!! Best thing is you can use them to lock/unlock from either side of the door and they are durable. They have been a life saver for our toddler who can open doors from the handles.

This product has been fantastic in keeping our children out of rooms we don't want them to go in. I will definitely be recommending it to my friends.

Easy to install and is working out well so far. The only slight drawback is that we cannot completely close our door and slide the top lock at the same time. We have to close it half way, then slide the lock before we can close the door all the way. It may just be the type of doors that we have.

Installation was fairly quick & easy, even with poor instructions. Product works great -- keeps our very inquisitive 2-year old out of the wrong rooms.

I love this product! I have 18 month old twin boys and these are the only childproof door locks that I have found that actually work without damaging the door or spending a fortune! I would recommend them to anyone! The only downfall is having to open the door for my 4 year old daughter to get into her room or use the bathroom...

This product has worked well for us and seemed to go up pretty easily.

This lock has been a Godsend. The extension wand was too short for great grandma so had to attach dowel rods with tape--they aren't pretty but they work! Just remember locks are in place otherwise they break if rushing through the door. Best deterrent for bedroom/bathroom doors that I've found. Can be used by those with arthritis!

These locks are FABULOUS!! We purchased them for our 21 month old. I REALLY wish we had found them a year ago!!! I highly recommend them! They are SO much better than any knob locks. They are easy to install, and it is great that you can lock/unlock them from either side of the door.

This works great. I was using a door knob cover that my 20 month old was able to defeat. This has solved my problem of keeping unsafe items away from him.

We installed them throughout the house for our 2yo. They are easy to install and don't look like an eyesore. hey are very effective. Now we need product for exterior doors.

I just received the door locks and just love them. My 15 month old cannot get into rooms that she should not be in at all. We had a great evening with out jumping up every five minutes to see where she was and without having to say no every 5 minutes. They were so easy to install and well worth every cent.

These are such a great idea! We have lever door handles and I wasn't happy with any of the handle-locking devices I'd seen. This is so simple and works great. My only wish is that it had dangling wands on both sides of the door.

These locks were so easy to install and gave a strong feeling of saftey to our house with our little one.

Once in place, the lock has worked without fail. Our child has pulled and tugged on the door and the lock has not budged. The lock was fitted on a pantry door and the screw was mounted on the inside of the doorway. Because it is not a walk-in pantry, mounting the screw was a bit tricky. On the second try (yes I measured twice!) it fit in to place just fine.

This product is Fabulous! It took less than 5 min to install them on my french doors, and now I don't have to worry about my toddler getting into things! They work perfectly. Even when she pushes as hard as she can they hold steady!

The easiest childproof product that I had to install and also the one that works the best. It took about a half an hour to install 3 of them and most of that time was spent measuring. My 15 month old son spent about 3 days trying to open the doors after finding out he couldn't he just gave up. Because it installs on top of the door it doesn't give them any target to try and figure out. There are a lot of childproofing products on the market that are a waste of time and money but this isn't on...

Very easy install... quick with drill. My childs room as a walk through restroom with an entry door to our infant's room. We put a top door lock on the restroom door and our 3 year old's bedroom door so that she can still go potty but cannot enter infant's room or leave her bedroom! Works great! She got mad at it the first day and yanked very hard. It held strong! Simply don't forget that it is locked if you are an adult... it will break with adult force. Great product!

The Deluxe Door Top Lock was suggested by a professional baby proofing company and we love them. They are so easy to install and are great for keeping kids out of rooms or in a room for that matter. By the time a child is old enough to reach the wand, you won't need them anymore. Other door locks are eventually figured out by kids and rendered useless. Hi im a Day Care mum down under and i come accross these locks on your web sight and i must say they are the best things ive ever brought. Well done on this product.

Easy to instal with even a screwdriver (directions say to use a drill) They slide well on our doors and now keep all children out. I have already forgotten they were there and broke one. Adults tend to open a door with more force then a child so be careful. I'll be ordering more.

Easy to install. Easy to use. Inexpensive enough that we ordered 10 of these! All of our doors have lever handles. These work great to keep our 14 month old out of the pantry, washroom, closets, bathrooms & other bedrooms.

Much sturdier than another I purchased in the past. Hanging arm is very convenient, but a little short for my 10 year old. I used some 1/4" tubing to extend them. Great product!

I found the product easy to install. It works very well and I would purchase another one if needed.

I don't really feel qualified to rate it since we don't use it but I wanted to let future customers know our issue with it. I wanted this to work but alas, it did not fit on the door. Make sure to measure your door. I assumed that my door was a standard interior door but I guess not. It seemed the perfect lock for our rather tall and inquisitive 3 year old to keep him from opening the balcony door and throwing things over the railing.

I'll add to the many positive reviews. I bought 7 for various doors around the house. We needed a way to keep our precocious 22 month old out of certain rooms and we could not use doorknob covers because we have non-standard oval knobs. These do a great job and our son now knows which doors are "locked" to him. Great for teaching boundaries as another reviewer stated. You will need to drill 1 hole in the top jamb of your door. basic to install; works as advertised; be aware however that the lock must slide across the top of the door to engage the rod screwed into the jam; if clearance is tight you may have to file the edges round so that it slides easier when the door is shut.

Was very easy to install and works great. Only problem was that my aunt didn't know it was there and yanked on the door so hard she broke the part that slides.

I have used these with both my children and have found them a wonderful way to teach limits. I can also rest easy that certain areas are inaccessible to little ones.

Superb!! I have had these installed for a couple of months and they have proven a true child proof safety item. Since he can not reach them, there is no way he can move them. Locks slide very easily when intended to. Easy enough for me, impossible for him. I LOVE IT!!!

I really liked these locks. I bought 4 of them for around the house. They were not hard to install. My husband broke one the first day because he didn't realize they were on there and thought my daughter had fallen asleep in front of the door. These keep my daughter inside her room where we need her when she's supposed to be sleeping. We made a very good purchase, although the handles were a little shorter than I expected.

Excellent! Just what I was looking for to keep my grandson safe. I put one on the door to the basement steps and one on a set of French doors (just put one on where the two doors come together). Just wish that the grip wand extension was longer for shorter adults. My grandson has fgured out how to open all the other kind of loks we have tried -these are a godsend!

I've only had it installed for about a week. But, finally, I can keep my toddler in his room. (Two different kinds of doorknob covers didn't keep him inside). This lock seems to work great. Although, if he pulls hard enough, I'm afraid he could break it. But, after a few tries, he usually gives up.

Works great on the wooden doors, But it would be nice to have a thinner one for storm doors. I had to glue a peice of styrofoam to mine to make it fit !

excellent! we use it on our bathroom door, as our twin toddlers love to go in/out of the bathroom. i was always so nervous that one of them would get their fingers pinched while they were playing with the door. works great & solved the problem. great find, too, as this type of item is not available at our local baby stores (babies r us).

This item is easy to install. This has worked to keep my now 3 yr. old from going through the door into the laundry room to the garage. It prevents her from escaping...I'd recommend it.

I have lever door handles in my house and didn't want to spend a tons of $ trying to lock out my son of the pantry and closets by traditional lever locks. I put this on to prevent my 6-year-old niece from entering my baby's room when she comes to live with us for 3 months. It works very well. Even though the 6-year-old figured out how it works almost immediately, but it's too high for her to reach. It's easy to install. and I think when we don't need it anymore, it will be easy to remove, too. Very satisfied with this buy.

We bought 3, they are great, except one broke right away. The others are still good, must have gotten one faulty one.

We love the top door locks. They are by far the best kind of baby proof locks to get. We have been using them so much that we decided to get more!

I love these door locks. They are so much easier to use than the locks you put on the door handles. We painted the handles to make them stand out more on our white doors.

I really like this lock, too. I don't have to worry about my older toddler getting into rooms I don't want him in (like his little sister's!) and it's very unobtrusive. I don't think the wand really works very well, but our door are fairly tight in their frames.

I love this slide lock for the shorter, standard height doors. However, in our kitchen and den the doors are very tall and the wand is too short for me to reach it. It fits the door great, but there should be an option to get a longer wand. It was easy to install.

I love this door lock. It was very easy to install. I love that it sits on top its easy for me to use and it keeps my kids out of my bedroom! I'm definately going to order more.
