Door Flip Lock for Child Safety

We have used these locks now for three years. Installed on the door to the garage and the front door. The only problem I have had is the one on the front door, which is a double door like a french door, if the door shuts too hard or just hard enough to shake the other door that the lock is attached to, the flip lock flips back upon the closure and you are locked out!!!! Luckily this happened only twice when I went out to get mail and water plants, and an adult was in the house to let me back ...

These are great for curious little ones who want to take it upon themselves to walk out of the door at any given time!would put on every door you can! Best thing ever!

Great lock for the money. I would give it a perfect rating, however of the 4 I bought, one was not painted completely, and one was covered with a black tar-like substance. For the price, I would recommend ordering a few extras.

These worked perfectly for all of our doors! They installed very easily and there is no way out -- or in if someone was trying to break in. Love them!

These locks are a LIFE SAVER! We bought 3 of them for our outer doors and they have worked perfectly in keeping our very curious 2 year old inside the house. He just learned to open round knobs as well so I'm ordering another for our garage door that leads to the side of the house. I recommend these locks for kids but also as an added safety measure, I feel much better knowing they are locked at night!

Excellent Item! I installed them as soon as they came in the mail, and my 3 year old son trested them oit right away...And guess what...He couldn't escape. These locks are the best I have seen so far. I would recommend to any parent who has a child who likes to take off : )

I have an autistic 4 year old, and these locks have been a literal life-saver. We have them on every door in our house that opens inward. They are easy to install and use.

This item is great. We moved into a new house a couple weeks ago, and my 3 1/2 year old daughter figured out the doorknob covers within a week, and decided to go out as she pleased. We ordered four of these locks, and put them on all the outside doors, along with our bedroom door (so she can't escape during nap time). They are so easy to install and with the white ones, you can barely notice them on the white door trim!

This lock works great! We had one on the front door so the kids could not open the door.

if you have a child who has hearing issues and doesnt yet understand not to run outside, or an autistic child who is an escape artist these are the BEST locks for your door. I put mine about 6-8 inches from the TOP of the door where the child cant reach it and even i have to stretch up to reach it and they work great up there. We have had them on the past two houses we have lived in

THis is a great lock that works on inswing doors. We installed them on our exterior doors, and did need to carve out a little space in the door jamb on a few doors, but we appreciated the fact we didn't have to put holes in the door and trim, like a deadbolt would have required. It is discreet but effective, and gives peace of mind to keep kids safe and also an extra measure of overall security.

This is a great item for standard sized doors. They are extremely easy to install and use. However, if you have larger than standard doors... these will most likely not work. I tried to install them on larger interior doors in our home, but the space between the door and jamb was too large & the lock simply stayed in place while the door opened. But overall a very discreet & good safety product.

These are great to have for the childrens safety and they are also an added benefit to the household safety as well.

By far the coolest thing since sliced bread! This thing works great, just make sure your measurements are correct before you mount anything. Measure twice, mount once is the moto!

these work great for interior doors. (the door has to swing towards you) my 2 yr old was always sneaking out until we go these. the only way a child can open these is if they get a chair to reach it, but that gives you more time to realize what they are doing!

Our 4 and 3 year old figured out the door handle one in no time. Read the directions before putting one on.

my kids love to be outside, but having an 18 month old run out on his own is not a good thing. The flip lock has been wonderful to keep him in, it takes seconds to install, and provides the safety and sanity we parents need!

This is a great product. We got one for the front door (son figured out the french door handle cover in no time) and it is perfect. Now getting two more-one for the door to the basement and one for the back door. Works great. Would be nice in white.

Not impressed in the least with this item. We have french door handles on all of our interior doors, and our 2 year old has mastered every device we have put on them. We thought this would be the answer because he couldn't reach it. Wrong. It only works if your door swings inward, which most interior doors do not. So beware before you buy.

great product. Second time buyer. I recently moved and I am installing them on my new home. I wish they came in nickle (or silver) though.

My son started learning how to open our front door at 15 months. Unfortunately, the way it's set up, even if we lock it from the inside, pulling the handle unlocks it and allows him to escape. With a set of concrete steps right outside it really had me worry, but this flip lock works perfectly. We didn't have to put any screws into the front door and it is easy to close but keeps the door shut when needed. I recomend it!

We were at our whits end with my daughter and her running and bolting from the house. We were ready to install deadbolts reversed to keep her safe when a friend recommended trying these. THESE THINGS ARE EASY TO INSTALL AND WORK PERFECTLY EVERY TIME! We are so glad we went with these instead of having to deal with deadbolts. Two screws and they are installed. Took me less than a minute to do and are one of the best things we ever purchased!
